1.5.1. Jack and tools

The jack and tool kit fasten by means of a bolt to fastening on the left side of a luggage carrier.

Before putting away a jack in a luggage carrier, its handle has to be lowered up to the end down.
 The face wrench, the screw-driver, key 10 x 13 mm, ear for towage and a plastic pin for replacement of wheels fasten to a jack by means of a rubber strip.

Prevention

On the Audi-Kupe and Quattro models the jack and tool kit fasten in a luggage carrier by means of a nut lamb. Always check that these tools were reliably fixed and did not dangle, otherwise they can put a trauma to passengers in salon.

Use a jack only for replacement of a wheel. Never use a jack for raising of other cars or other freights as it can lead to accident and injuries.

Never use a jack as a support during the work under the car. If a jack it is casual to be displaced, you can suffer a serious injury.

Do not lift the car, having established a jack under a bumper as in this case, you can seriously damage it. Also, the jack can jump out that will lead to receiving a corporal trauma.

Do not install the car on shlakobetonny blocks, bricks or other props which can crumble under big weight.

Do not start the engine when the car costs on a jack.

During the work under the car, always use the reliable support made especially for this purpose.

Face wrench

The face wrench is the tool serving for two purposes. The six-sided nest on the short end of a key approaches under bolts of fastening of wheels. The six-sided nest on the long end of a key approaches spark plugs.

For convenience of removal and an inhaling of spark plugs, insert the screw-driver handle into a six-sided opening on the short end of a key.

The six-sided nest is provided in the handle of the screw-driver especially for simplification of removal and installation of bolts of fastening of wheels. Not to receive injury, always remove a removable edge when using the handle of the screw-driver for this purpose.

Prevention

The handle of the screw-driver should not be used for untwisting or an inhaling of bolts of fastening of wheels.

The plastic pin is used for simplification of replacement of wheels. When you insert a pin into an opening for a bolt, it guarantees that openings in a wheel will coincide with carving openings in a wheel nave.

Ear for towage of the car

The ear for towage of the car entering tool kit can be twirled in the anchor nest attached to a forward bumper beam.

After installation, the towing cable can be stretched through a towing ear.

At towage, follow rules of towage.

 Twirl a towing ear in an anchor nest and tighten a hand.

Remove a towing ear when it is not necessary for you any more.
