1.4.15.3. Addition of cooling liquid
Kill the engine and let's it cool down.
Prevention
Reduce risk of a scalding hot cooling liquid, conforming to the following rules:
– if you need to uncover a broad tank of cooling liquid, wait until the engine cools down;
– the cooling system is under pressure; protect a face, hands and forearms, having covered a cover with a big piece of thick matter not to be scalded by the coming-out steam or liquid;
– accurately and slowly turn a cover on one turn to let off steam before completely uncovering.
Always add antifreeze and water in the ratio, designated on capacity by producer of antifreeze.
Increase in content of antifreeze in cooling liquid more than for 60% not only is not economical, but also has an adverse effect on cooling of the engine.
It is necessary to use only qualitative antifreeze which is containing ethylene glycol and not containing phosphatic connections.
Use of antifreeze, excellent from recommended by Audi, can cause corrosion of the cooling system that will lead to an overheat and damage of the engine.
A small amount of the antifreeze containing ethylene glycol and phosphatic connections can be used only for small refueling of the cooling system if you have no antifreeze of the required brand.
Cold antifreeze and cold water should be filled in only when the engine also cold.
After addition of cooling liquid, let's the engine work in the idling mode within several seconds.
Double-check the level of cooling liquid. Add cooling liquid if it is necessary.
Prevention
Do not overflow the cooling system.
The excessive amount of cooling liquid will be merged via the reducing valve in a broad tank when the engine gets warm.
Reliably twirl a cover of a broad tank after filling of cooling liquid.
