Prevention
Shaft of a steering column and casing of a steering column, removal / installation Installation When wheels stand directly, the crossbeam of a steering wheel has to is in horizontal position. During the work with the airbag of safety and elements of steering which mention system of a safety cushion it is necessary to observe certain precautionary measures. Do not try to straighten elements of the mechanism of steering or to carry out on them welding repair work. Replace everything самоконтрящиеся nuts and bolts. Since 1990, all Audi-80/90/cars of Coupet are equipped with the power absorbing steering column, and also the safety airbag.
The top and lower parts of a casing of a steering column are marked with red points. Always replace a casing of a steering column if the red point is ground off or it was erased.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1) insert a shaft of a steering column into a casing
2) insert a steering column into an opening under an instrument guard and lift it
3) put the lock of a steering column on a steering column
4) establish a bolt with a head under a face key (it is specified by an arrow)
5) insert a key into the ignition lock
6) unlock the lock of a steering column that it was possible to turn a shaft of a steering column
7) establish a bolt of fastening of a steering column
8) connect together the limiter, a tube to flanges and a shaft of a steering column
9) establish a steering column on the center, having moved it up and down on a fixing arm so that the connecting disk (on a tube with flanges) moved freely at rotation of a steering wheel
10) tighten bolts of fastening of a steering column to a fixing arm
11) connect the socket of connection to the ignition lock
12) establish an instrument guard
13) install the block of switches of a steering column
14) establish a steering wheel
15) connect a wire of the negative plug of the accumulator
16) check operation of the block of switches of a steering column
Prevention
Since 1990, all Audi-80/90/cars of Coupet are equipped with the airbag of the safety established on a steering wheel.
